Stretta
Stretta is a unique minimally invasive GERD treatment option that is a gentler alternative to surgery. The safety and effectiveness of this method has been proven in more than 40 clinical studies and in more than 25,000 cases. The result of Stretta therapy is the efficiency of the treatment of patients with GERD and, above all, the significant and long-term relief of patients from symptoms, usually for a period of 4-10 years.
ADVANTAGES
- A gentle method of treating GERD
- Non-surgical and minimally invasive procedure
- More than 40 clinical studies have proven this method to be safe and effective
- Outpatient treatment usually takes less than 60 minutes
- Patients can return to normal activities the following day
HOW IT WORKS
The system works on the principle of therapy in the LES area, where the delivery of high-frequency energy is targeted. It has been proven that high frequency energy strengthens the muscles and increases the amount of fibers in the treated zone. The result is a measurable strengthening of the lower esophageal sphincter, which reduces the number of relaxations without causing its narrowing or fibrosis.
WHO IS IT INTENDED FOR?
Stretta is a non-surgical outpatient procedure for patients with GERD or LPRD who do not respond to medication or for whom medication is not a viable option. It is a minimally invasive endoscopic procedure, which is a gentler alternative to surgery with proven results. Most patients will experience complete or significant reduction in PPI medication. It is also indicated for patients suffering from GERD after bariatric procedures.
